Get a Study Permit

The study permit is a document we issue that allows foreign nationals to study at designated learning institutions (DLIs) in Canada. Most foreign nationals need a study permit to study in Canada.

Restore Student Status

If your study permit expires and you want to stay in Canada and study, you’ll need to apply for a new study permit and restore your status as a temporary resident.

Extend your study permit

The expiry date on your study permit tells you when you have to stop studying and leave Canada. If you want to keep studying in Canada, apply for a study permit extension at least 30 days before your study permit expires.
